Thurs, January 11: An Intro to Scoliosis: "Mirroring" for the Nervous System

with Angelie Melzer

12p PT/3p ET

This 2 hour introductory workshop focuses on the verbiage and approach when finding the connection between the healing process of the body and mind with a Chronic Pain patient (specifically a Scoliotic) and how to use the bodies of both the practitioner and the client to teach a new movement pattern. Feeling "straight" in a crooked body can be frustrating to say the least. This new approach will gift the ability to feel a straight spine and mirror the movement, while checking in with all of the parts of the body to negotiate the emotional side of Chronic Pain. Combining both the emotions and the physical sides of pain creates a heightened awareness of healing. The inclusion of "checking in" and pausing to allow the emotional side of the healing process will be included throughout the session.
